    KLH Model Six Restore

Hi Lorne, I always try the Howards on the bottom first. As for the grilles bleach/wash or new ones-good luck. Rick
  4. Good Morning, Make sure when you test that at least one(1) wire is disconnected !
  5. Hi Vern, I don’t know of anyone(yet) who can repair a 3a mid. The 3 midrange can be repaired(check with RoyC). midwestspeaker.com does show an AR-9 replacement mid and says it can be used in the 3a. If I replaced mine I would use 2, nothing was mentioned about any crossover changes. RickB
  6. Great speakers you will enjoy them and yes they can be restored!
  7. I have personally seen these-well built and beautiful.
  8. I have personally seen these at John’s-well built and beautiful!
  9. DO NOT THROW TWEETERS AWAY, THET CAN BE REBUILT IN MOST CASES. CHRIS1 ON THIS SITEIS ONE CHOICE TO REBUILD THEM.
  10. I don’t think so, but if from Europe maybe. Look on the back of them for any paperwork and where are you located? Unfinished pine and birch were available I believe. The pine was semi-easy to paint.
  11. Hmmm these do not look like the typical cloth woofer to me. I would remove them and check for the correct p/n. Take some more pictures of both front and back. Good luck.
  12. Pictures under 100k each would be great-thx
  13. Great job, how do they sound?
  14. I would swap the left and right speaker Wire at the amp and see if the problem follows the amp
  15. First welcome! Download the AR-3a restoration guide. The guide can be used as a basic guide for the AR-11, as the 11 is a later version and the 3a. Pictures as you go will also be helpful and good luck
  16. I told you that you would get some answers-welcome! Lol sincerely, RickB
  17. Great score. Your lower wattage amps etc are adequate but the Harmon will be better. Lpads and caps and maybe a rebuild on the the tweeters might be needed(Chris1, RoyC) please keep us posted.
  18. I just opened it, try again please.
  19. Yes they are, very impressive!
  20. Unless you can find them on “Ebay” or some other like site you my have to make them. Others here have done so. Good luck!
  21. My vote is paint them a flat black and if you don’t like them just reverse them.
  22. I would now connect to the terminal and or the leads to the voice coil and test the woofer output. If it works ok then clean the terminals ,reconnect. If not then there is a wiring/ component problem.
