  1. Update Jan 13, 2022 The factory informs me I should have these within 3 weeks (so expect 1st week in Feb). I will post updates here. The wholesale price increased but I was able to negotiate a little by buying more so I can hold the line for CSP and AK members at $30 per PAIR including crimp connectors, lock washers and genuine Daka-Ware knobs or $28/pr without knobs. Nice speakers. You may be able to suck those domes out with a vacuum cleaner
  3. Ok A few people have asked for these so I will try to get some more. Please PM if you want me to reserve some for you Kent
  4. Take a look at this thread To answer your questions; the woofers are not the same. I like the aluminum-frame cloth-surround woofer in the 2 and 2a but they won't fit your European 2ax. IMHO the 2ax is superior in every other way. The orange dome tweeter on the 2a is trouble prone and often the dome pops off with age. The dual mid-range driver arrangement was meant to improve dispersion when the speakers were placed horizontally, on a bookshelf. Vertically they don't work that well. The mid (actually it's a tweeter) on the 2ax is better. The 2a is a nice speaker and if you find a pair in really good condition for a really low price go for it but the 2ax is superior.
  5. I think there were a couple versions of the 94. Here's a pair I worked on:
  6. Barry, Suggest you list the items for sale in the For Sale section. It's free. Be sure to include some pictures, resized to about 100KB or so. Also give your location. That 416 is over 50 pounds so local pickup is desirable. Good luck Kent
  7. I did a quick search and came up empty but I suspect a good tech could troubleshoot it and figure it out. Is it worth it? I dunno. When you ask around maybe just call it a Cambridge Soundworks Model 12. I think the Mick Fleetwood thing is just some sort of special edition but still the same innerds. Where are you? I know a good tech in NJ. Fun fact: the CSW Model Eleven was a modern version of the 1960s KLH Model Eleven suitcase stereo. The CSW Model Twelve was the successor to the Eleven. Similar but I think the electronics were changed. I have 2 KLH Elevens but no experience with the CSW.
  8. The thing with the 4x is that capacitor block is under the bracket that holds the inductor. Much easier to just leave it. The size/weight is insignificant.
  9. Why? Foam, pots and caps are to be expected. Agree with Giorgio and Aadams. If you do the work yourself the total cost will be roughly $250 USD and you’ll have some truly great speakers.
  10. They look nice but I’m skeptical about “untested “. How hard is it to test speakers? The seller has a very good feedback rating. I’d ask for pictures with the grilles off. If the drivers look good then maybe worth it
  11. I have nickel-plated brass, stainless steel and some used originals. Any work fine
  12. Bear in mind the cheapest way to mail these is First Class Package for $4.00. You may be better off with the ones from Home Despot. The brass so don’t “look” original but who’s gonna notice. They’re $1.67 each. Looks like they also have stainless for $2.24 each. That’s probably your best bet unless you want used originals or new nickel plated
  13. I believe all AR, KLH and a few others used 8-32. I have stainless steel or the original style nickel platted brass. Any member who needs some please send a PM after the new year. Kent
  14. Vintage gear is fun and part of the hobby but it needs care and attention. Modern amps or receivers will give you the most bang for the buck. As I said in the 2nd post your Yamaha choices will work fine, as will many other modern amps. 100wpc will work great.
  15. Merry Christmas 🎄 to all! Kent

    Yeah. Look 2posts down

    AR 5 caps

Looks like my link didn’t work. Try the link in the first post here Carl wrote 50VDC minimum for the caps, not AC. Doesn’t matter. Most of the modern caps will be at least 100 vdc

    AR 5 caps

Take a look at this. Caps should be 50vdc minimum but can be higher. Use film or npe. Many here would use film for the 4 and 24, and npe for the 72 but you can use film for all or npe for all. Film lasts forever, npe is cheaper edit: bad link please see my next post
  19. That would be either RoyC or Chris1this1

Wow. That’s a major project. How’d it turn out?
  21. 6.2uF is common. So 6.0 or 6.2 btw resistors don’t go bad. No need to replace back to an earlier question: yes use audio grade caps. Film for smaller values. You can use non-polarized electrolytics (npe) for large values
  22. Parts Connexion does have Solen pb in 3.0 and 6.2. I’m sure there are others but hard to search on my phone. Or Try Erse or PE
