Looks great ! those are the early models with the damper on the woofer I could be wrong but these are probably I suspect better than the more recent woofs without the rubber rings

Food luck,pulling for you! Among the greatest speakers ever made IMHO I still use a pair of 3 as my main studio monitors as a professional engineer. They sound so natural and open. Amazing low end too

Have you checked with Larry Gace at vintage AR ?

Another thing that comes to mind is I think that nasty fiberglass is the culprit that damages the potentiometers and probably can make its way into the spiderweb around the back of the woofer . Nonetheless I have always stuck with the original insulation as well. I’ve restored many but I’m not as good as you by a long shot, you do beautiful work!

Beautiful work it’s so nice to see these exceptional speakers restored for future generations to appreciate as do we. I think what type of insulation did you put in the AR three cabinets? Did you put the old scratchy stuff back in or use something new?

I may want to buy the whole lot your offering to simplify your life I could look after the little guys as well and get them back into the world being enjoyed .

Hi Pete I’m getting pretty excited I am not far from Rumson I perform in Asbury Park and used to play with your most famous residents. I understand the speakers are in rough condition I hope the price can be commensurate so I have an opportunity to restore these jewels to their former glory or at least something close to that I have a deep love for this model and make it one of my life’s work to bring them back and cherish them for the future
