bdmcn71
I just got a pair of AR3s, totally restored, factory varnished walnut finish, with original boxes and paperwork. All I’m missing is one ‘3.’ How often do these surface? Any tips on how to acquire? Not a huge deal, but would love to complete the pair. Thanks
bdmcn71
Ok, safe to assume not many are available outside Vintage AR and Ebay ... the waiting ... is the hardest part. In the meantime, I will just listen and enjoy and feel fortunate to have such an iconic speaker. The best I’ve ever heard. As a noob, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Wow. JKent
Welcome to CSP I have some reproduction "3" pins. Here's a link to the For Sale thread that lisits the parts available, with pictures. If interested send me a PM -Kent
Jim Pearce
Hi guys, Who knows where I can get some of the pins for the 2ax? Hopefully they won't be the ones that will eventually in a humid environment bleed rust onto the fabric. Thanks!

Curious what has been restored. Enjoy those beasts! Glenn
bdmcn71
Thanks Glenn!! All original speakers, I’m told by a trusted seller and friend. New caps and pots were put in. I have the original speakers boxes, too. I also was told that the finish was factory lacquered, rather than the factory oiled walnut one more commonly sees. I think I also have an AR3 brochure. Feeling very fortunate. They sound so smooth, and the bass is so nicely extended. I am currently using a CJ PV12A preamp ... but soon replacing it with a Mac MX110z. My amps are Dynaco MKIIIs. I’m nearing the end of a two year journey.
