Per la pulizia delle targhe utilizzo carta vetrata grana 800/1000 e poi due mani di pasta lucidafari, come da istruzioni allegate al prodotto. Il trattamento della pasta lucidante per fari lucida i fari con una lucentezza a specchio e protegge l'ottone dall'ossidazione.

Due di noi stanno riparando il tweeter a cupola nera da 3/4" utilizzato nel 3a e in altri modelli AR. Chris1this1 è l'altro membro del forum. Fa un ottimo lavoro nell'avvolgere una nuova bobina mobile secondo le specifiche originali.
Ho avuto un successo limitato nel riparare il medio tipo AR-3a e non sono a conoscenza di nessuno che abbia ricostruito questo.

Years ago, I had a pair of Ar3a mids that were dumb, with the internal flexible wire disconnected and broken; fortunately the mids could be opened, the templates were fixed with the four screws, they were not the old glued ones, after opening them I reconnected the flexible wire and the mid picked up.

The wiring with the 8-ohm potentiometers and the 8-ohm R, I would have done it this way, without using a constant impedance L-PAD potentiometer and the 25-ohm R the parallel to the tweeter.

Riparare il supporto della bobina mobile leggermente schiacciato sul bordo inferiore, ma abbastanza da sfregare nell'intercapedine d'aria e riformare la schiuma.

I'm sorry for the text in Italian, but the diagrams (with changes) and measurements taken should also be understood by fans of different languages !!
Personally, among my pairs of AR speakers I have a pair of AR58S that have been working for years now and I will replace the crossover with that of AR91, a pair of AR91s and a pair of AR98LS, to all these AR speakers I would remove the aforementioned resistance and change the crossover of AR78LS as shown in the PDF.

Giorgio, intendi la R da 2 ohm sul C da 100uF del woofer. Quella R ha una funzione "smorzante" e in pratica riduce lievemente la pendenza delle frequenze piu' alte di competenza del woofer ottenendo un incrocio piu' chiuso con il mid; togliendola modifichi acusticamente ed elettricamente l'incrocio woofer/mid diminuendo l'impedenza in un certo range di frequenze

Mms was detected by the added mass method. The weight of the moving crew I detected in an Ar 200003 woofer averaged about 68 gr ( cone, spider, coil and stand but without the suspension foam ring. As soon as I can I weigh everything together

I had them for more than 25 years in my listening room, spectacular, powerful articulate and deep bass, natural midrange and treble in right balance, excellent power handling, timbre and selectivity at the highest level. Mine as can be seen from the photos, were more elaborate than the originals, a sub formed of 25mm MDF panels, sand-filled cavity for a total wall thickness of 7.5cm, internal filters with 1.8mm copper coils, weight of the coils of the whole filter 8.5kg, weight of the sub box complete with components 130kg.
Satellites formed of glued and screwed slats with central slatted turret for mid-high and tweeter, in volumes not used by RCF polyurethane mid-bass and dry sand in low, total weight of one satellite, complete with components 82kg. Crossover filters composed of air coils wound on Teflon spools and plexiglass side walls, PP Solen capacitors on satellite cells, and PP in oil on woofer branches, bypassed by paper and oil

In my opinion, it would be better to listen to the speakers with the original canvases installed, which are an integral part of the design and listening tuning, in fact, as can be seen from the measurements on Advent OLAs, the canvas has the function of linearizing the frequency response and optimizing the polar output; as on the Ar3 and LS3/5a and many other speakers.

The filter schematic published on CSP is different from that of our Lars, which has the input capacitor is 2500 nF and has a 10-ohm by-pass R in parallel. The published schematic has only a 5000 nF capacitor group without the 10 ohm R.
