Jim Pearce
What can anyone say is the one distinguishing trait that these loudspeakers have, or what is their strong suit and their weak? I have a chance to get some. I don't know which model number.
Aadams
If they don’t have a Walsh driver there is nothing special. If they do have a Walsh then how old? They are still in business and provide repair parts, some of which are expensive.
Jim Pearce
Ok, that's exactly what I was wondering about. I don't know what years the model L was produced, I finally found out what model these are. What is so special about that particular driver besides it's appearance? JKent
The Model L doesn't have Walsh drivers but they are nice speakers if the price is right. This Stereophile review explains the Walsh driver: https://www.stereophile.com/floorloudspeakers/687ohm/index.html
Aadams
The Walsh driver is an almost full range omni-directional driver still used by Ohm in their more expensive speakers. The Ohm L is a decent box speaker that does not have the Walsh driver.
Martin
Beware of having to refoam certain Walsh drivers as some of those surrounds are unobtanium.
