My AR3's have brown paint over what I think is plywood, not sure, but should I just sand or strip first and then sand?

I think it is just cheap brown paint..sanded right off..maybe plywood not birch under it....still love it...love the lighter color for speakers.... -

I just brought these home a few hours ago. Someone stained over the birch years ago...can't wait to strip it off. Was it difficult getting the grills off? I just got one off using the "screw" method...you do the same? Both work but the seller told me they were dead. Nice suprise...love the birch look....not sure how to clean the screens...

Got it. I hooked them up and both actually worked. I feel bad the seller did not know. Got one speaker grill off...a bit of a struggle...but did not break it and followed the screw method....plastic frame still intact...

I just bought these off CL. $350.00. They have issues but not opened up. One is dead and should be a bit of fun. No serial numbers and painted cabinets over plywood. Going to strip off.
