owlsplace
They appear to be unmolested, sequential numbers and all original from a charity auction: 111995837516 BIN for $2,499 plus $249 shipping. I think I would drive those though. Love to do those ... Roger
Liangshan Marsh
Thanks owlsplace! I saw it too and a good deal near mint AR-4 pair BIN $300, just sold awhile ago http://www.ebay.com/itm/131812261155?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

The links to the auctions go dead after a while. These are the CTS woofers that some people seem willing to pay exorbitant prices for -- the early 4x's used them also: Roger
GD70
Those LST's are gorgeous! Amazing condition considering their weight, no banged up corners that I can see.
ra.ra
I totally agree about the condition of those LST's, and even more remarkable, no dented tweeter domes! Very low serial numbers, too, and I love the little chart for switch settings on the paper label. Gorgeous pair of AR-4's, too - - thx for preserving the pics, Roger. It's rare that the tweeters would be non-functional on a pair of AR-4s, especially in this condition. These speakers should have sold for $600-700. This pair is in good condition, and the speaker is increasingly rare these days, having been made for only one year. --Tom Tyson

This pair worked perfectly, but I had to rotate the level controls back and forth to get the tweeters to reappear. --Tom Tyson
ra.ra
I watched that auction for the AR-4's, Tom, and was pleased to see the price you received after 42 bids were offered. BTW, the photos and the text in that sales ad were among the clearest and most informative I have ever seen. I am very pleased and proud to be in possession of two pairs of 4's which, except for cap replacements, remain all original including grilles, badges, and paperwork. Both pairs shown below are supporting a very nice AR-4x, the one on the lower right is from a very early pair - - s/n's below XX200 - - and it's interesting to see no tic-tac-toe or floral damping painted on the cone. tysontom
Thanks for the compliment! The AR-4 pair below the AR-4x look fantastic! Really beautiful speakers!
