Kuja
Hello everybody!I couldn't do this without this forum and I can't find enough words to express my gratitude.Thank you all, for your help and invaluable advices! Here they are:I used Mundorf M-Cap capacitors, Neotech UPOCC solid core internal wiring, WBT Nextgen Cu speaker terminals...I also added spikes which original ARs lacked. This is how they looked when they arrived in their new home:Restoration started...New crossovers with Mundorf M-Caps:Neotech UPOCC solid core wires. No different color wires here. It was hell to connect everything - I checked and rechecked everything many times.I did put small tags on wires, but I wanted to be sure. Almost finished, waiting for drivers to be put in their places:.

Guest winters860
Nice! I just refoamed a pair of somewhat dowdy AR-90 and have been enjoying them immensely. How did you get the front baffle to look that good?
Guest PhoenixRising
Wow! Those are absolutely amazing. Excellent work - certainly a set of speakers to be very proud of. I'd love to hear the AR90's. I've had a set of unrestored 9's for about 10 years and I can't imagine using anything else for 2 channel audio. My wife and I intend to restore them soon, and I'm definitely inspired by what you did with your 90's.Happy holidays!
Kuja
Thank you all! How did you get the front baffle to look that good?It was sanded first, then spray painted in black. Finally, several layers of semi gloss acrylic lacquer were applied by spraying.I didn't do it myself. I did let the professional furniture guy do it. Now I guess that the front baffle looks much better than the original one when they were new. Now I would like to get some 11s or 10pi to play with:http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/IP.Boar...?showtopic=4978In case you didn't see this here before, here are my old AR98LS:http://www.kujucev.com/ar98ls/ar98.htm I just love old gear! This is what was done with one of my amps:http://www.kujucev.com/KA907restoration/907.htm. More than 7 years ago I also refurbished them and it was worth the effort. Congratulations and enjoy.
