arken
There is a set of AR303A on eBay. There really isn't a ton of information online about them. I understand different people were behind the development of these speakers using some of the same thinking behind the 3&3a but how do they sound? They look kinda nice? arken
Thanks Stimpy, Interesting, I would be curious to hear a set. You don't see these come up for sale that often. Speakers are so subjective. it's so hard to know without listening to them.
JeffS
arken, Here's a link to a review in Stereo Review in June 1995 (page 33): https://www.americanradiohistory.com/Archive-HiFI-Stereo/90s/Stereo-Review-1995-06.pdf
arken
I'm intrigued. Thanks for the reviews theirs a lot in common with those reviews. I'm not sure anyone thinks they sound better overall but they have areas where they shine. The one reviewer said the bass heads will love it. Thought that was an interesting comment. Stimpy
I love my AR58S speakers. Another 12" AR 3-way. Nothing wrong with them sonically. Not bass heavy, or thick in the midbass. Just capable of responding with surprising bass quality and quantity, as the music requires it. Open and airy in the mids and treble too. A fine speaker, which I'm sure could describe the 303's. After all, they are a Ken Kantor design. No junk there.
lakecat
Of course the 303 is an improved version of the 3a or Ken would never had done his job..:). It is much stronger and drivers are better. It handles 250 watts per. The bass is super strong. I have the black pair..mint...and played thru a Pioneer SX-1980. Awesome match.
