Bijan Posted June 14, 2016 Report Share Posted June 14, 2016 Something seems off, almost looks like reconed woofers. Also looks like a vinyl covering instead of walnut veneer. ra.ra Posted June 14, 2016 Report Share Posted June 14, 2016 I would agree with Bijan that those cabinets look a bit odd, and of course the black grille cloth is not original. The drivers, however all appear original, but all surfaces (surrounds, cones, dust caps) have been coated with an unknown substance. It could be paint?... or it could be the black version of the butyl sealant?.... although the butyl tends to have a more glossy finish. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

JKent Posted June 15, 2016 Report Share Posted June 15, 2016 The wood does look odd. Hard to tell what's going on there. Also, face frame is separating in top left corner. Flicking back and forth to images of other KLH's the testure on the cone is not present and the dustcap is larger. If soemone painted ist black this may explain the lack of texture, but not sure about the large dust cap. Definetly something going on with the cabinets too.
