JKent
Looking through the May 2012 issue of "The Family Handyman" I came across an article: Furniture Refinishing (page 72). It contains "tips for cleaning, repairing and restoring finishes without all the messy chemicals and tedious sanding." It does not have my favorite product: Howard Restor-a-Finish but does contain several handy tips, including Roy's favorite: the epoxy "tootsie rolls." Even shows how to wood-grain the repair. Worth looking at.Kent
Carlspeak
I read a handy tip recently that rubbing furniture scratches (walnut furniture I presume) with walnuts will help make them dissapear. Haven't tried it personally though.
genek
The walnut trick works on varnished surfaces. Not so well on penetrating finishes.
