Dave S.
Hi,I just picked a pair of Fours in decent shape that appear to be oak instead of walnut. The serial numbers begin with 89 and have the later, small 5 way posts. Does anyone know if these were offered in oak and the approximate year of manufacture? Thanks. The Fours are very nice speakers. Had some for years but sold them Mine were SN 96xx, I also had a pair that were SN 10xx and a single, SN 12xx.Be SURE to check the woofer surrounds. If they have not been refoamed they will need it. Check the brochure here: http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/library/allison/allison_one_series/allison_one_series_brochure_2/allison_one_series_brochure_2/allison_one_series_brochure_8.html Looks like they were only offered in walnut. How 'bout some photos of yours?Kent
Dave S.
See MikeM's thread/question below regarding value. The pictures in there are exactly like mine
JKent
I'd say they are walnut. Walnut veneer tends to get lighter with age. The grain of walnut is differnt from oak. In any case, nice speakers!Kent
