Pete B Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 What IS the BSC circuit? Can someone post a link so I can read up on it? Thanks for the info about different caps. I did read that. Not surprised differences are subtle.-----Here is the long story about it, post #97 has a nice comment about thesound, several people comment around that post on how good it sounds:http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/IP.Board/index.php?showtopic=2692

DON Posted May 22, 2011 Author Report Posted May 22, 2011 Hi all. I've been away for a while but I appreciate all of your replies. I've put the recapping on the back burner for now but I'm pretty sure I can do it if I can get enough light inside the cabinet. I've got a pair of 5012s that I have a problem with but I'll start another thread on those.

It is the overall balance that is not quite right.Still, a complete redesign of the crossover would further improve the XO transition and correct the overall balance.I roughed out a completely new one years ago as a Saturday afternoon project with my son - it sounds VERY good.

stan461 Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 Hi Stan, how's it going with the BSC?I just sent it back to you yesterday (7/19/2011).With the unit in place and all else being equal, the Advents image and the highs are tamed. Those are the 2 things the BSC unit did for me. And both are significant improvements. On the down side it does take more power to get the same volume with the BSC in.I still think that I need to improve on the acoustics of my room. That will be my next venture.Thank you Pete for your generosity in sharing this unit which let me enjoy my Advents even more.
Pete B Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 Thanks very much Stan, it arrived in fine condition!
