Johng99
Hello, I’m new to the group but not new to AR loudspeakers. I grew up with them, have owned quite a few and restored AR3s and AR3as for my Dad (hard to believe that was 24 years ago). I also had AR303s back in the late 90’s but couldn’t keep them. I just brought home a pair of AR303s in excellent condition, cherry finish and I am so happy that I bought them. I really forgot how good they sound to me. I can hear a kick drum loud and clear again and bass sounds as it should, clear and low, not bloated. But I’m also pleased with what I’m hearing in the mids. I found out years ago that these like power. I’m powering them with a McIntosh MC302 which at 300wpc seems about right. Anyway, they fill the room with sound and never sound harsh or strained. I think these will stay with me for a long time.
DavidR
Welcome to CSP. Nice speakers designed by Ken Kantor. I had a chance to pick up a pair thru Craig's List but have too many speakers and would rather try a pre-Teledyne pair next.
lakecat
Congrats on the cherry. I have the black pair and love them on a Pioneer SX-1980. They are the 3a on steroids!...lol.
