jmitchnh
I know this may be an impossible question to answer, but I'm looking at a pair of D's and wondering if they would represent a noticeable improvement over the Eii I currently own. I listen to almost exclusively vintage equipment and the Eii's have just a special sound to them that is just blends perfectly and is smooth as silk. I know the D is a three-way and has a metal dome tweeter. I'm expecting more detail in the highs and mids vs the E's but don't want to lose the lush bass of the E's. Anyone listen to both? Thanks! lt_texan
I've experience listening to Type K, JII, EIII, C, and 1's. They are noticeable improvements based on my listening. The Type 1's are a special animal and hard to compare. I've never heard D's. I've never heard A's. But the C's are bliss. I'd expect the D's to be an improvement if they are in good shape.
