  1. I know this may be an impossible question to answer, but I'm looking at a pair of D's and wondering if they would represent a noticeable improvement over the Eii I currently own. I listen to almost exclusively vintage equipment and the Eii's have just a special sound to them that is just blends perfectly and is smooth as silk. I know the D is a three-way and has a metal dome tweeter. I'm expecting more detail in the highs and mids vs the E's but don't want to lose the lush bass of the E's. Anyone listen to both? Thanks!
  2. A local seller is selling these speakers listed as an AR8. I can find absolutely no info on this speaker whatsoever. It looks like a real wood veneer and the drivers look decent. Does anyone know if these are legit or white-van imposters? Thanks!
  3. After Dynamatting the woofer baskets and sealing all drivers to the cabinet with Mortite, it was time to go to take the next step, re-cap the crossovers. I had also planned to do a little "re-engineering" while I was in there. As you can see, the orig x-over had typical low-budget components. Trying to keep costs to a minimum, I decided to re-use the factory inductors. I removed the factory tweeter protection fuse and relocated the components to make room for the hefty Clarity Caps I planned to use. I also replaced the sand cast resistor with a Mundorf MOX resistor and rewired the drivers with
  4. The upper and lower drivers are connected to their individual low pass inductors on the crossover. Just check the polarity of the lower drivers and the uppers will be the same, they just different colored wires. Hope you enjoy the Heritages as much as I do mine!
  5. Hi all, I'm looking to rebuild/upgrade the crossover in my Heritage speakers and am looking for the inductor specs. Does anyone know if a schematic for this x-over exists? Although this speaker is not considered a "classic" Advent, I simply love the look of this speaker and would like to maximize it's sonic performance. Any help/suggestions/info would be greatly appreciated! Mitch
