JKent
Welcome Ace! 1965 Very nice speakers but you'd do well to replace the capacitors. The Seventeens used black and red Callins or Temple capacitors that were very failure-prone. You need two 2uF and one 8uF cap per cabinet. Ace218
Thanks, Yes the capacitors have already been done. I was kind of wondering about the serial number. I see some like this with an "AS" in front of the model and serial number and some with just the model then serial number. Is their a difference? JKent
There may be. Yours appear to have a Masonite panel for the terminals. That would be a good thing (or is it just painted metal?). Some had aluminum plates. Stupid design. The screen over the tweeter was black on some but I think they're the same tweeters.
Ace218
It sounds and feels like a painted metal plate. Mine also do not have any model writing on the speaker that is why I am wondering if these are actually later models. These where refinished and re capped and the speakers re coated .
