Anyone interested?Was puzzled to see no reference to Snell in the Library section. I thought there was some stuff back in the old site. Did you happen to note the mid and tweeter model numbers?How did you determine that they are 4 ohms, did you happen tomeasure the DCR of the drivers?Interesting that he uses a third order electrical network on the tweeter.Mid is roughly first order electrical high pass with impedance compensationon the driver for Fc resonance, 2nd order lowpass electrical. Some sort ofseries trap there also that doesn't look like it does much since it is shuntedby a low resistance.Anyone else have the rest of the schematic for the woofer section? The speaker is rated at 4 ohms as noted in the copy of the Model A owner's manual which should also be in the library. Guest Bluzmaster Posted March 4, 2008 Report Share Posted March 4, 2008 Attached is image of a mid in my Snell Type A.DC resistance reads 6.2 ohms. Looks like a Philips AD5060 at 8 ohms then. I've got a pair coming (I think) that I found on eBay.It might be a good idea to include serial numbers in order to detect any changes in drivers during the lifespan of a given model. My Type A's are serial numbers 521 (left) and 522 (right).Hope this helps the data base.Regarding the Tweeters: I'm planning on replacing the tweeters w/ a close equivalent from Audax; the TW025A10 (4 ohm). The tweeters in mine are totally missing and everyone seems to think they were 4 ohm. But I'd sure feel better if someone would test the DC on an original and confirm that for me. Told me they work and they sold both to me for $250.00 Never heard of the brand until I saw them. Wife not happy with the size of them LOL. Im excited to hear them.
