evanjones
Hi, I have a pair of Allison threes with one completely dead tweeter, and was wondering if this one: http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=allison+tweeter&_sacat=0&_from=R40 would be a suitable replacement? I noticed it didn't have the same post that the leads attach to as the Allison Three tweeters?Hope someone can help, I'd love to hear them again! JKent
Welcome EvanThe Allison: Three is a 4 ohm three-way system that uses one 1-inch (2.5cm) Convex Diaphragm tweeter. I "think" that when I was looking for a tweeter for my Fours I was told that the tweeters in the 2-way and 3-way systems were different. The one on ebay does not state which system it came from. OTOH, I don't know if that information is accurate.Another possibility: If you can't find the right Allison tweeter, maybe the Audax TW025A2 1" Textile Dome Tweeter would work. This thread discusses my search for a tweeter but for some reason it's in reverse order (go to the bottom of the page to find the first post) http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/IP.Board/index.php?showtopic=3033Finding replacement tweeters for Allison speakers has been discussed on the Yahoo Allison forum: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/allison-speakers/Good luck!Kent
evanjones
so these tweeters from Allison 1s which I think were a three way system should work?http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Pair-of-ALLISON-TWEETERS-for-3-Way-Speakers-Roy-Allison-c-1980s-/160951978427?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item25797c49bb
