genek Posted January 19, 2012 Report Share Posted January 19, 2012 Teledyne bought AR from Edgar Villchur in 1967 and sold it to Jensen in 1989.Henry Kloss founded Advent in 1967 after selling KLH. He left in 1977 to start a video company, and Advent went bankrupt in 1981 and was acquired by Jensen. Since 1989, various products have been sold with both AR and Advent branding.Jensen was bought by Recoton in 1996 and Recoton was bought by Audiovox in 2003, and that is where the ownership of both brands is today.
