Thanks to Vern, aka Dynaco Dan, I noticed that this site

http://www.electroni...s.com/home.cstm

sells NOS ROGAN BROTHERS 8-904 Knobs. They appear to be the original knobs used on the KLH Model Twelve contour control boxes. I thought they were "unobtainium."

Thanks Vern!

Kent

Edit 6/2/11:

The Rogan knobs are BIGGER than the original KLH. Sorry if I misled anyone

Hi Kent

You are very welcome, Kent.

I haven't explored their website yet.

Under which category is the KLH knobs listed, please.

Back again.

I went back there again and did a search under that part number 8-904

and found them under, hardware + knobs, thank you, Kent.

Tuesday 20110426 UPDATE

After my emailing a request for a possible reduction in their minimum sale of $15.00 and minimum S&H charge of $10.00,

No further discount is being offered by that company.

Well, I ordered some. They are NOT the same size as the KLH knobs. Sorry if anyone bought them on my recommendation.

Here's a photo. The new ones are ROGAN BROTHERS 8-904. There's an "8" embossed inside the center hole. The KLH version is also embossed "ROGAN BROTHERS, Skokie, ILL." on the back, but there is a "12" in the center hole.

As you can see, these won't work on the KLH Twelves. Too big.

Seemed too good to be true :(

Hi Kent

If someone has a metal lathe, possibly the outside diameter can be turned down a tad.

With a high speed lathe and very fine sandpaper the outer two protrusions can be buffed smooth.

The new ones look quite nice as a replacement knob.

If they can be turned down, you can be the one to thank, Kent.

Just a thought for today.

Hi there

Just another thought for today.

A metal lathe will work as well.

Has anyone bought these and attempted to adapt these?
