thc
Hello, both of my CD7 woofer grills are deteriorating. Most of the damage is on the round lip (edge?) as opposed to the flat top part. Partly missing lip, partly just cracked. Does anyone have good suggestions for fixing/restoring them? I am assuming that they can no longer be replaced. Thanks for any response!

Thanks for any response!HiI repaired some Allison Grilles using Plas-T-Pair. Take a look at my KLH Eight Restoration manual in the KLH section of the Library for a description of the product, how to color it, etc.http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/library...lh_model_eight/Kent

Thanks for any response! The grills at the link below are a better fit, and look better, than the ones Carlspeak mentioned above. I've got them on my 4's, and they look great. They're 8 3/8" in diameter, and so there's only a 1/16th gap between the edge of the grill and the cabinets. And the grill mesh is very fine and matches fairly closely the originals. And added plus--being metal, they're very sturdy and not prone to breakage.http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=260-

I like the look and the fact that they mount on the existing woofer screws without needing to drill the veneered surface. Unfortunately, like many metal grills, they have resonances and ring at certain frequencies. A simple tap with a fingernail demonstrates this.
