RoyC
http://www.make-digital.com/make/vol20/?pg=149Nice write up, Zilch...I recently removed my Avid 102 E'Waves http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/IP.Boar...?showtopic=5465 from the rotation for awhile, as I moved on to some restorations. I would not say I prefer them over some of my favorite old timers (like the Avid 103), but overall I did find them to be more satisfying than a number of the others. Their strong points seem to be consistency from room to room, as well as an ability to do comparatively well in small rooms. If there is a weakness, it is some midrange harshness at higher volumes...which was not a problem at my typical listening levels. It was a very worthy project, especially considering the low cost and relative simplicity of construction. They certainly have been fun to play with. Thanks again,Roy
Zilch
Thank you, Roy.Constant directivity and compression driver dynamics are EconoWave's defining characteristics. It is decidedly "entry level" and intended primarily as an introduction to modern design concepts; there is plenty more territory available for exploration....
