Guest macaddict
I have a pair of Advent Heritage tower speakers I have owned since 1991. As with most speakers of this age and design, the foam surrounds have rotted away to the point where I can no longer use them.I do not want to re-foam the woofers, but would like to replace/upgrade them with newer poly/rubber woofers. My question to the group is, where can I find a close match to the OEM woofers I have in my fine Heritage cabinets?I have looked online and have found no place (that hasn't gone out of business) where I can find a decent match.I am somewhat of an audiophile and do not want to just go to Radio Shack and pick up their "generic" 8" replacement woofers.Thank you to anyone that can guide me in the right direction. Carlspeak
Good luck trying to get a hold of Layne Audio. Most posters here have had much trouble contacting him.Remember, it's all about the musicCarlCarl's Custom Loudspeakers
JKent
Why not refoam? I was intimidated myself, but with patience and care, you can do it. OR...pay someone to do it. You'll have original speakers and not aftermarket replacements. People here have mentioned Bill at Millersound, Minh Luong and others as doing first class work.
