DeSelbyofDalkey
Has anyone removed the internal (poly fill, I think) insulation from AR90s, and if so, is it difficult to get back in? TIA
Stimpy
The .tif documents, in the Library (AR Drawings from Ken Kantor), reference the insulation. The doc gave me the impression that the insulation was installed in a very specific way, in a specific location. So, I left mine alone. I'm a coward. DeSelbyofDalkey
I am no coward, but as you note, there might be a specific way of installing the insulation that I might not be able to reproduce. I also wonder if it might be difficult to remove/reinstall. I do not need to take it out but would like to check the inside of the cabinets. Stimpy
The stuffing consists of 4 separate rolls, slid in and installed side by side together. Just a happy bundle. The insulation is in the upper part of the cabinet. None between the woofers. That's by design, and should be left as installed from the factory. No extra insulation should ever be added. The only thing that really needs to be checked is the 'can' for the LMR and that can be checked without removing the stuffing. You might have to shift some around or slide your hand up and around the 'can' to make sure it is still tightly glued in place.
