My ar-2ax’s look different than others

I can’t seem to find any other 2ax’s with this style tweeter. Are they very late models? Serial numbers are 284398 and 284400.

I would offer the theory that the grill cloth was changed and/or they are very late production. Your woofers look like the drivers that came from my AR-2aX's and the set in my AR-5's. I believe the standard grill cloth that were shipped was the off-white/beige color.

Those look great! I still have a long way to go and still need to find a good source for pots,caps and refoam kit.

My 2ax's look like that. They were from the last Norwood run of the mid 70's, with back-wired tweeters, no front panel terminal blocks and MDF rather than plywood backs.

Yep, genek is correct, these speakers are fully original. In later years, AR-2ax will typically have rear-wired tweeter and square magnet, four-screw, foam surround on woofer. The dark grille cloth is also original, and I have seen it also on AR-4x and AR-5 from Holland, but I don't know if it was ever an option on speakers in the U.S. Your woofers are dated from 1977.

Yeah the crossovers are a bit different than the older ones as well. 
Got some new caps and surrounds on order. 
Took the pots apart and they were surprisingly clean. Would it be safe to just deoxit them and call good if they ohm out ok?
