  1. My main stereo is: A25, pair Mk III, factory wired PAT-4, KLH Eighteen tuner, NAD CD player, Thorens TD115 Mk II turntable. The Thorens is being sold for an AR-XA (two motor). One of the Mk IIIs was trashed picked, unused, still in the box, along with an unused PAM-1. The A25s were trash picked, too. They replaced a pair of AR-4x in the main system.
  2. Back to the topic at hand. I can only comment on two models. The Fourteens sound really good in a small room. I am using a pair with the 27 receiver in my <8 x 10 kitchen. The Twenties sound rather meh to me. They were powered by a pair of Dynaco Mk III. It could be that I compared them to a pair of AR-4x...
  3. Hi Matthew, I'll play along. Without trying to I have managed to collect: Model Twenty speakers (3 of them) Model Fourteen speakers (2 pairs) Model Eighteen tuner (used daily with a Dynaco PAT4 preamp and a pair of Mk IIIs) Model 27 radios (3 of them, one with the proper extension speaker) Model Eight radio (low s/n, solid walnut) Model 27 receiver (listened to every day in my kitchen with one pair of the 14s) I recently learned of the Model Sixteen amp. Now I am jonesing for one! Peter
  4. Thanks Kent. I don't have 17s...yet
  5. Of course, if i happen to find one, the KLH 18 will be the tuner. Which means that I will also be on the lookout for another tuner.... Does this madness ever end?
  6. Greetings! I just learned of the KLH Model Sixteen integrated amp. I would love to find one in good condition. I have the rest of the components to make a great KLH "teen" stereo: A Model Eighteen in fantastic condition, and a pair of (almost unused) Model Fourteen B still in the boxes. Thanks for looking. Peter
  7. Thanks Kent! I will order caps today. I have been running the unopened speaker with a Dynakit Mk III. It sounds remarkably good for such a small speaker. It lacks clarity, though. I can't wait to hear these after they have been recapped. Peter
  8. Mystery solved! 1 MFD, 400 VDC Looking on the Parts Express site, they have Jantzen, Solen, or Audyn metalized polypropylene caps with these values. Or should I use a film or foil cap?
  9. I will pull the cap this evening and post a pic.
  10. Can someone assist with replacement cap choice? The cap in there says 400 MFD, 446 V.D.C. There are two resistors labeled: (1) 24 Ω, 10% and (2) 12 Ω, 10 %. I had one speaker hooked up to a Dynaco Mk III last night. I can verify that one driver is acting as "woofer", and the other as "tweeter". Thanks!
  11. I have a thread going on in another forum working out the restoration of a pair of KLH 14Bs. I haven't found much information about these speakers, other than production numbers and dates. I thought the pictures would be helpful. I'll update as I go if there is interest. Peter
  12. Hi Kent, How do I purchase via CSP? Peter
