stan461 Posted May 9, 2004 Report Share Posted May 9, 2004 I have 2 pair of AR3as and decided to buy new caps for one pair. I got the 6 caps from Madisound (3 for each speaker) and installed 3 new capacitors in only one of the speakers. The pair I decided to re-cap had the wax imbedded caps. I then tried many combinations with the 4 speakers over dozens of listening sessions and have found the best sounding speaker to be the one with the new caps. The worst speaker is the one with the wax caps still in place. There is no doubt that the new caps improved the quality of the sound in all respects.
