ITCHIJO
GENTLEMAN: I HAVE A LEAD ON A SET UP OF OLD SCHOOL LARGE ADVENT SPEAKERS. I AM CURIOUS TO KNOW IF THERE WAS A CABINET THAT WAS A STEP UP FROM THE UTILITY CABINETS? AND MAYBE BEFORE THE BULL NOSE CABINETS, WHICH THIS YOUNG BUCK KNOWS THAT THESE ARE NOT? IF SO, ARE THESE A VENEER CABINET OR AN EARLY VERSION OF THE BULL NOSE CABINETS WHICH MAYBE ARE A HIGHER QUALITY CABINET? THE WOOFERS ARE WITH THE WOOD RING AND THE TWEETERS ARE PROJECTED OUT FROM THE FACE OF THE CABINET. ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THIS STYLE CABINET WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, AND WOULD ALSO MAKE MY OFFER WORTHY IF THEY ARE A HIGHER QUALITY CABINET. I THANK YOU FOR ANY INPUT ON THIS TOPIC! "MERRY CHRISTMAS" "ITCHIJO" THESE SPEAKERS ARE QUITE A DISTANCE AND SHIPPING WOULD BE NEEDED, JUST SO YOU KNOW THEY ARE AT A DISTANCE TO JUST GO AN EYE-BALL!!! dxho
If you haven't already seen it, there's an Advent reference thread here that provides a lot of detailshttp://www.audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/identifying-your-advent-loudspeakers.126376/
ra.ra
This original cabinet design is the one that is most appealing, IMO. No vinyl, no bullnose.
ITCHIJO
THANK YOU!!! DXHO AND RA.RA GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! IN YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THESE ADVENT SPEAKERS, WHAT WOULD YOU THINK THAT THEIR VALUE WOULD BE AND I KNOW WITHOUT EYE-BALLIN' THEM IT WOULD HAVE TO BE A ROUGH GUESS. THE OWNER SAYS THAT THEY ARE AN #8 OUT OF #10 OVERALL COSMETICALLY AND MECHANICALLY. PLEASE LET ME HEAR YOUR INPUT, FOR I HAVE JUST STARTED TO DIVE INTO THIS ADDICTION OF HEAVENLY SOUND OF THESE ADVENTS. THANKS!!! "ITCHIJO"
