lARrybody Posted August 5, 2017 Report Share Posted August 5, 2017 A friend sent me these images of his AR2's today and wanted to know what venere I thought they are. The photos are not the greatest resolution. He thinks they may be walnut, but is not quite sure. After looking at the images I am thinking they may be pine which has been stained? These would be the tops. This is probably the top when placed horizontally. This may be the unfinished bottom when horizontal. Any ideas on what venere these may be? ra.ra Posted August 6, 2017 Report Share Posted August 6, 2017 Re: AR-2's, pic 1 and pic 3 are definitely the pine finish (with birch front mouldings), but pic 2 is too dark or clear to assist with the species ID. The finish does not look too ruinous - - - it could be a simple aged shellac, urethane, or even wax. The AR-2a's in the corner of the room might very well be walnut, though. That's my $0.02.
