AR3a woofer gasket

Does anyone have any better material for sealing the woofer than that tar like substance that AR used?

Or maybe making a gasket?

It took me forever to break the seal and lift that sucker out (twice).

Nope, the original stuff, mortite, is the best for this. New mortite can be found here if you need some. http://www.energyfederation.org/consumer/d...cPath/21_392_71

These speakers are not made to be opened, so opening them is somewhat difficult, but once they are fixed, there is no reason to open them again anyway.

I guess I'll just have to struggle with them again in 30 years.

If you have the Alnico woofers, with the cloth surrounds, you should never (knock on wood!!) have to open them again.

Or, if you like the gray color, you can just go to Home Depot

>Hello, I use regular "plumbers putty" Available at any hardware store or home depot. Roll it till it forms a snake then press it into the recess fit the woofer or other drivers and trim the excess. It is made to remain plyable for many years under sink and bath drains. Unfortunally it is a tan color but with trimming does very well. Dale
