script56
hello. i am in the process of refinishing a pair of ar3a speakers. I was needing the decals for the grills. Also, does anyone know about new veneer for ar3a or where to find spare cabinets. Also looking for original paperwork. thanks
danajohnhill
ARs don't really have decals. They're more like metal badges with small screws on one side. The 3as badges have recessed lettering filled with a dark red paint of some sort. Most all of the paperwork that came with these speakers is available in the library section of this site. And don't miss the "Restoring the AR-3a" guide. It deserves a Pulitzer Prize. Good luck with your speakers.
fast_eddie_72
Just watching on ebay, it seems that even nice cabinets sell for more than it seems (to me, anyway) they should. You'll probably do better to restore what you have. It would be worth posting some pictures if you can. Some of the folks here have restored the finish on speakers that I would have thought were too far gone. That would be the most straightforward option.
