AR Model 30

What is the scoop on the model 30 speakers that are now on ebay that may command the high price. Never heard of them.

The 30 was the top of the short-lived but excellent Classic Series, intro'd in 1992. Here is the brochure that I submitted to the Library some years ago:

I remember talking to Mark Waker, then head of Marketing at AR. He said that if the Classics were a big hit, it would probably usher in a new era of manufacturing at the Canton MA plant. Unfortunately, the Classics were not a big hit, and soon thereafter AR pulled up stakes in MA and fled to CA.

The 30's were great speakers, however, as were all the 1992 Classics.

I have a pair of Classic 30's and in my opion they are the best sounding speakers Acoustic Research has ever produced. They are actually so good I had not listened to my AR90's in years and gave them to my daughter.
