cruisaire
I picked up (pun intended as they are very heavy) a pair of AR-1 speakers at Goodwill and now I am trying to find a manual or literature on them. Although they are scuffed a bit and scratched some (over the years)and I intended to refinish them, I have already been advised to leave them "as is". I also need to locate 1 of the small corner logos (metal) for the cover/grill. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

cruisaire
Any ideas on how the wiring works to connect one of these to a much newer SS receiver? Are the woofer/tweeter wired by jumper (series) or some other way? I have no paperwork on these speakers to reference. All help is appreciated. Thanks :+
administrator
On a related note .. I just got some pictures of Tom Tyson's AR-1 online. Check out his comments. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!!http://168.143.114.212/speakers/ar/classic/ar-1/ar1.htmMark
cruisaire
Thanks for the info. Sure looks like Tom got a VERY EARLY unit indeed!I sorted out the wiring of mine and the sound is impressive. Is Tom active here or do you have an e-mail for him? ToastedAlmond
Tom is "in" when we're lucky. When he's here, it's schooltime. Ken Kantor drops in also, and then it's schooltime again. Steve F. is knowledgeable also! I'll tell you, man, this is a great site. I get a giggle thinking about the Sansui speaker and Pioneer HPM lovers at AK. This is REAL speakers, for REAL people, not squawkboxes for the clueless. George
