Dave S.
Hi, I just picked up AR9's that the previous owner refoamed using incorrect surrounds and did a poor job at that. Any suggestions on how to remove intact foam and glue from the cone will be greatly appreciated. I've scraped the foam down to the point where there is a thin layer and the glue underneath. The remaining foam isn't uniform and I don't think I'll get a good clean seal with the cone. Thanks for any ideas.
Guest fourwheels0
on mine i just kept rubbing the cone between my fingers and the remaining foam rolled off the cone. it took a little while but they came out real clean and smooth and i got a very good seal. i've heard of using paint thinner or acetone and i'm sure there are better ways but my method worked for me. hope this helps.
