Guest
Brian,I tried to email you privately a few days ago but the forum was having problems then. Just in case ...I have a pair of vintage 1978 AR17 speakers that I was getting ready to sell on Ebay, but would prefer they go to an appreciative home. They have exactly the same drivers as the AR18 of that period; the AR17 has a slightly larger cabinet, slightly better frequency range, and real walnut instead of vinyl. The speakers have been in storage for 15 years and need new foam surrounds on the woofers, but otherwise are in absolutely excellent condition. Beautiful walnut veneer cabinets (no scratches or chips), original everything in perfect shape. I just put them on my system and they sound great, excepting the hollow-ness from holes in the foam. You (or any other member) can email me through the forum system for additional details.CraigSan Jose, CaliforniaAR17 vs AR18, from original owner's manual:------------------------------------------Cabinet size: 10 x 18.5 x 8.75 in (AR17) 9.675x16.5x6.25 in (AR18)Drivers: both 8in woofer, 1 1/4 in pressure highrangeFreq range: 43 Hz - 25 kHz (AR17), 48 Hz - 25 kHz (AR18) Cabinet finish: Oiled walnut veneer (AR17), walnut grain vinyl (AR18)
