Guest BeTtYbUdDy16
I just got a pair of large advents i refoamed them and now im starting to notice that the highs are lacking is this due to bad crossover cappacitators?. Or is it a bad choke? I dont want to wreck them by getting the wrong values and putting them in. So if any one could please help with the values of the capacitators would be appreceiated thanks. Doug G.
Do you have the original type Advents with the masonite ring woofers or the later "New Advents" with the all-metal woofers? There is a difference in the crossovers.Doug

Are you noticing the bad highs ONLY after the refoam? Or, do you suspect they were bad all along? You had the opportunity to get the cap values when you took out the woofers to refoam them. You can do it again and be sure what values your speakers have rather that rely on what someone thinks they should have.Or is it a bad choke? Guest BeTtYbUdDy16
They arent really bad highs just sound weak. The bass over poweres them by alot even when i have the treble settings on my reciever all the way up and the bass half way still sounds weak.
