ar_pro
>Extremely Rare * Seriously Smooth * Perfect Condition Item>number: 220023113026 I actually bought a pair of dirt-cheap, original AR-9's from a guy who was replacing them with these things. What a maroon.

Guest SherwoodFool
Arn't these same(or some variant) that was used by Levinson with that amp demo in the late 80's or early 90's? It seems to me that would be great for surrounds, at least the smaller ones. These(M3) look like trapezoidal AR-4's.Are they really that bad or did you just meet someone who had to have what he perceived to be the "latest & greatest"?Regards,-Russ
ar_pro
Don't know about any connection to Mark Levinson, but they sounded like a little 2-way, balanced on the top of a 3' post - thin, and with no hint of "gravitas". I'm not certain what this guy was looking for, although he did make a big deal out of the M3's imaging characteristics. That said, to compare the capabilites of the two systems would be absurd, and so I just smiled, and nodded my head as we carried the AR-9's out to my truck :-)
