bubu91220
Hello ! I am restoring a pair of ar4x, I found these old ohmnite rheostats of 15 ohm are they compatible with the loudspeakers of the ar4x?
ReliaBill Engineer
12.4 watt canned rheostat. Power-wise, it should work.
ReliaBill Engineer
I bought these for $12 each. I wasn’t sure what condition I’d find my pots in on a pair of early 2-ax. Turned out they were in new condition. I tried one of these out. It fits nicely. But 20 ohm. Sounded fine! It bleeds off less current from the tweeter or midrange, and sounds fine. But I’d have to make a cover for them to keep the fiberglass out of the wiper mechanism, but that’s easily done.

bubu91220
12.5 watts for this potentiometer is it powerful enough? normally it is 16 ohm 25 watts. is there a risk for the loudspeakers?
