epraetor_arspeaker
I recently picked up a pair of 2ax's that sounded pretty decent when I went to pick them up. But I've noticed that the right speaker sounds muffled/flat compared to the left. I've swapped the channels on the receiver to see if that was the problem, but the sound remained the same in the right speaker. Is this a known/common issue or just how the sound is on the 2ax? I was told that they were recently refurbished with foam replaced and pots de-corroded.
genek
Even cleaned pots can have contact drop-outs. Try rotating them back and forth a few times to see if that changes anything. Also, be sure the jumper between the 2 and T terminals has not come loose. If that doesn't change anything, you may have lost a tweeter. epraetor_arspeaker
The jumper seems pretty solid, but had the signal cut out after moving the pots around. It came back after more jiggling of the pots, but still slightly muffled? Sounds like a bad contact issue, but is there any way to resolve without opening up the cabinet? Thanks
epraetor_arspeaker
Actually scratch that, seems like the wire connection to 2 is causing the cutout issues. Will keep tinkering and see if it's just a bad contact issue.
