Frank, the TSW-Series woofer is a poly-cone affair with a completely circular, 12-inch frame flange, and thus would not fit the AR-3a cabinet with its flat-side cabinet cutout. It probably has the same Xmax and free-air resonance, but other than that it would not properly work in the earlier AR speakers. Also, I believe that the TSW-910 12-inch woofer, AR Part No. 1210074-2, has somewhat different response characteristics due to its plastic cone, and acoustically it probably would not be a good fit in the earlier AR speakers. That woofer was also optimized for the TSW's 200-Hz crossover, I believe, and might not be compatible with the 525-575-Hz crossover in the AR-3a/AR-LST.

There was another poly woofer in this category, AR Part No. 1210074-0, that was used on the Magic MGC-2, AR50 and AR50T. This woofer also would not be a good match for the AR-3a/LST.

Frank, I looked at the woofers on the eBay listing, and I forgot that they do have the flat-side frames. The magnets are also just about identical to the 200003-type AR-3a woofer, and the speakers appear to be very similar to the Tonegen 1210032 AR-3a service-replacement woofer, so these woofers will probably do okay. The polyethylene cone material will sound different, as they typically don't behave well at higher frequencies, but within operating range in the AR-3a and AR-LST, they should be okay. It probably would be worth a try -- they probably will sound okay. If you get them and install them, let us know how they sound.
