mergman
I am looking for input from anyone about whether or not I should seal the cloth surrounds on some 5" whizzer drivers. I recently purchased 4 Rectilinear XII, all of the drivers are in great condition and working, cabinets are good just need refinishing. I have some of the surround sealant I purchased off Ebay for some KLH speakers. The surrounds on the whizzers look as though they have never been sealed and are soft with no issues. I am assuming they are the Philips midrange. Should I or shouldn't I seal them? Thanks in advance
Martin
Don't seal them as they were never intended to be sealed. There is a closed cup full of fiberglass behind them.
mergman
Thanks Martin for your input. Yes there is a plastic cup enclosing it from the back. They actually sound pretty decent, nice bass. Paid $120 for all 4. Cabinets are in good shape just need refinishing.
