ar_pro
We've just finished installing sets of spiked feet on my son's restored AR-9's (Parts Express #240-730) with excellent results. His speakers rested on a level oak floor, and were reasonably stable beforehand, so I didn't anticipate much of a difference. However, after completing the installation and restoring them to their original positions, the extreme low end seems to be tighter - there's just as much extension, but the notes seem better defined, with an improved localization of the instrument that's creating the sound. You do have to be careful after installing the spikes - it's no longer possible to "walk" a speaker into position, it now takes two big guys to move them!
