EricWww Posted March 3, 2018 Report Share Posted March 3, 2018 Thinking of doing another system with OLAs or NLAs- I've had several different "mid-hi fi" solid state amps/preamps before (Adcom, Van Alstine, Outlaw Audio etc, never had McIntosh, AudioResearch, CJ etc) and wanted to try something new. I've never had tubes so I'm strongly thinking of doing a VTA modded ST-70 or even ST-120 plus a PAS3 or similar tube preamp. Anyone run OLAs or NLAs? jessiAV Posted March 5, 2018 Report Share Posted March 5, 2018 My OLA's are driven by a Matisse tube circuit line stage (dual triode, no tone controls or phono preamp) driving a solid state amp. I feel this combination matches the Advent's better than my previous all SS configuration. The tube line stage seems to be more symbiotic with the tweeter and the OLA's well known midrange 'bump' isn't as noticeable. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
