Hello red packman, My guess is that the woofer was reconed. and used a voice coil that was close to original but not the same impedance The basket frame and magnet assembly is original. Need a picture of the cone and front of driver to tell more. If you post photo I can tell you more. Hope this helps. MrPajamas
