Guest
I have my father's old AR 1 speakers that I want to have repaired. Does anyone know where I can find the origanal grill claw? Or does someone have some like this.?
charger3834
I think you are kind of stuck. That AR-1, AR-3 style linen is no longer around. Some original grills may show up on ebay, but not often. The AR-1, 1W and AR-3 have interchangeble grills, I think. There are some close reproductions of the slightly different 'AR-3a' cloth. This will get you close to the original look. Dogmeninreno (Dale) has cloth like this, drop him a line. In addition, Tom Tyson has a procedure for cleaning the original cloth. I also have several original removed grill cloths that I will sell. Steve at Layne Audio mentioned that some AR purists (purists was ment to include me) have used tea or coffee to dye the off white color to a real close match. I still have many yards of the 3 shade material....
