Guest tgw Posted February 28, 2006 Report Share Posted February 28, 2006 I use three AR-4x's in my home theater and they can easily handle a 60 watt amp, keeping in mind that you will not be feeding anything like that wattage to the speakers.I have sold and purchased 4x's on eBay and you might get lucky and get a pair for $40, but usually they go for $70-$80 plus shipping unless you find a seller who is local.I have a pair of AR-4x's that I have restored and are for sale with the following done to them:New grill cloth (black)Checked cross over capacitors for proper value (20 mf)Cleaned potentiometersReplaced fiber glass batting with new poly fill battingSanded, restained, and two coats of satin finish polyurethane on cabinetNew foam seals used when reinstalling woofers and one tweeter (which had to be replaced)$95 for the pair plus shipping.
