dynaco_dan Posted August 15, 2011 Report Share Posted August 15, 2011 Hi thereI have seen the faded copy of the original AR woofer cabinet and it also shows radial baffleboard bracing.That cabinets front was square.If a standard round frame had been used and the cabinet widened an inch and shortened an inch or so, there would have been no need to have such an unusual shaped frame made.The inability to use a readily available standard stock round frame would seem to be an expensive and counterproductive measure.The first woofers were made by Western Electric, I believe, and then they were modified by AR.Just a question in my mind for today.20110816 update 33 viewers and no one has posted any thoughts on the topic. anyone any thoughts on the topic?
