Guest JamesSutton
One AR8 woofer isn't working. Test across leads with good AA battery produces no response. The tweeter works. Speaker has just been refoamed; woofer in other speaker, also refoamed, works fine. I know nothing about speakers, but love the sound of these and want to keep them. What do you think is wrong and what should this newbie do about it? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.Hi there;A battery test on the speaker cabinet terminals will only cause the woofer to blat or move back or forward. If the woofer does not blat or move, double check the battery voltage first.Test the other speaker cabinet as well.If one woofer moves then I suspect the the other woofers voice coil is jammed tight and should be returned to the service person who did the re-foam job.Another possiblity is that a lead fell off of the woofer inside the cabinet.More troubleshooting will follow, first, before returning it.Vern
